Combining local market knowledge with technical expertise, our multidisciplinary approach to building design is informed by the client's needs and business case to produce cost-effective, functional, inspiring solutions.
We are known for our creative, sustainable and holistic design approach which, from the outset, embraces low-carbon and economic operational performance. Our professionals strive to delivery visionary buildings that maximize naturally occurring energy and minimize waste. From creation to completion and beyond, we help clients reach the optimum potential of every project.
Collaborating across a wide range of building design skills, and sharing knowledge and a passion for a sustainable built environment through our international network of offices, Building Engineering at Bregstein creates designs that work for today andtomorrow.
Environmental Impact Assesment (EIA)
We offer a comprehensive suite of environmental impact assessment (EIA) consulting services, for new developments and for the expansion of existing facilities. Services include all aspects of project management, field activities, data interpretation and analysis, public consultation, identification of potential impacts, design of mitigative measures, facility design and optimization, long term environmental monitoring and development of decommissioning plans. We can assist our clients with environmental approvals for developments ranging from small expansions through to large greenfield industrial developments. Bregstein has many years' experience in the preparation of EIAs for projects of all types and sizes; such as commercial developments, industrial projects, bridges, ports, road construction, and onshore and offshore oil and gas supply facilities. Our key EIA elements include but not limited to:
a detailed project description, noting the sources and impact of environmental disturbance
a full list of alternatives, including those rejected, and a detailed examination of those under serious consideration
a description of the project environment: fauna, flora, air, soil, water, existing uses, landscape or cultural heritage, etc
a detailed estimate of the nature and scope of all environmental impacts, including temporary, permanent, local and regional
Our EIA teams work in partnership with experts in many different sectors and fields. Examples include road construction, private and industrial construction, traffic, risk management and geophysics. These partners may be from within client companies, from developers’ own specialist groups or from within Bregstein.
Water & WasteWater Engineering
With more than 5 years of experience in the wet infrastructure sector, Bregstein has the history and expertise to provide innovative and cost-effective solutions to address the needs of the water and wastewater industry. Our expertise ranges from addressing the water resource needs of growing populations, to pipeline design and the rehabilitation of aging pipelines and other infrastructure, to the implementation of emerging technologies to address your most complex water resource management, wastewater treatment and storm water management issues.
We provide a full suite of integrated water and wastewater engineering and construction services from the planning phase through to start-up of water and wastewater treatment facilities, as well as facility upgrades.
Trickling filters (TFs) are used to remove organic matter from wastewater. The TF is an aerobic treatment system that utilizes microorganisms attached to a medium to remove organic matter from wastewater. This type of system is common to a number of technologies such as rotating biological contactors and packed bed reactors (biotowers). These systems are known as attached-growth processes
Remediation
Over the years, our professionals have been involved in several oil spill clean-up and chemical stabilization projects in Nigeria and the United Kingdom. Our Engineers have worked as part of other major projects delivery teams on high profiled projects worldwide including the design, stabilization and clean-up of oil and chemical spill sites in Canada, United Kingdom and Netherlands.
Our research and development team boasts of unparalleled innovations in the use of bioremediation technologies where they have improved the efficiency of bioremediation through the mixture of bioremediation accelerator, oleophilic and hydrophobic chemicals, in the best proportion for maximum performance. EPA tests carried out on our bioremediation mixture showed aromatics hydrocarbons biodegrading two hundred times faster than normal. We also use chemical dispersants, dredging, skimming (Belt, Disc and Tube) and solidifying methods.
We bring together rare international expertise and value engineering into our deliverables and focus on the high quality standards ensuring we meet ISO 14001 and ISO 9001.
